Emerging from the unknown

A walk into the Faberge's Secret Garden

At this year's BaselworldFaberge opened the gates to its latest collection, The Secret Garden. It's a precious treasure trove of a garden that one would want to keep secret but it's also so dazzling that it cannot go unnoticed. Solid and lighter colours from sapphires, spinels, emeralds and diamonds are combined, producing a vivacity as sweet as the flora on a sun-soaked afternoon. The melange of green, pinks, purple and yellow stream like flowerbeds to form bracelets and intricately flow-the handiwork as seamless as an accomplished artist painting- into rings, earrings and outfit defining brooches.

Those who enjoy an Easter egg hunt can find an iconic Faberge egg hiding amongst flowers, dangling from the center of a necklace. But each item in The Secret Garden is a one off, never to be made the same again, so the best advice: Don't tell anybody else about it.

Maria Doulton of The Jewellery Editor immersed herself into this garden with a behind the scenes video exploring the collection and you can watch it below.
