To coincide with the Bjork exhibition currently taking place at New York's Museum of Modern Art, here's a photoshoot inspired by the musician's 2011 album 'Biophilia'.
"The way forward is to collaborate with nature,": A quote from Bjork that's kept closely to her name. There's the collaborating with nature environmentally (which Bjork is passionate about, especially within her home country of Iceland, and what this quote refers to) and there's collaborating with it musically. For 'Biophilia', the composition of the music refers to structures of nature, for example the movements of the Earth and the time between when lightning is seen and thunder is heard. Her interpretation of 'Biophilia' evolved into a way of teaching music and science using patterns from nature and her dream originally, in regards to the project, was to create a museum in Iceland where kids could go and do courses.
The images below refer to nature and the future. The outfits give the appearance of modern closeups of flowers and the setting is all about working together or moving forward with the natural resources around us. At sixteen, Katharine (the model) has the whole world ahead of her. A vision of the future perhaps.
